The Waterworks Department announced today that beginning immediately and for the
next six to eight weeks, Agency Street between Mercer Street and Curran Street
will be closed to eastbound traffic.  A detour for eastbound traffic west of
Curran will be established.  All westbound traffic east of Mercer will be
channeled onto the eastbound lane and to Curran Street.  

The lane closures and traffic detours are required to allow contractors to
accomplish water system improvements.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the construction zone.
