The Public Works Director announced that beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
September 27, 2005 the outside southbound lane (westernmost lane) of the Central
Avenue Overpass will be closed for approximately two weeks to allow the design
engineers and their contractor to make repairs to the bridge deck.  The inside
southbound lane of the overpass will remain open to traffic during this work,
but motorists need to be alert for signage and traffic shifts within the entire
work zone.

Southbound Osborn Street traffic as it approaches the overpass will be moved by
traffic channeling devices from the outside lane to the inside lane of the
overpass.  All southbound traffic on Central Avenue will be required to stop and
yield to all Osborn Street traffic before turning either left 
(to cross the overpass) or right (northbound) onto Osborn Street.  You may
recognize this as being
very similar to the way traffic crept through this intersection prior to the
overpass.

Please slow down, be alert, drive courteously and stay off the phone while
passing through the construction zone.
