The Public Works Director announced today that weather permitting, Wednesday,
October 26, 2005, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. the 1800 block of Mt. Pleasant
Street between North Gertrude and Cook Streets will be reduced to one lane each
way controlled by signs and cones.

The lane closures are required to allow a Burlington Waterworks crew to renew a
water service.  He further announced that at 3:00 p.m., the eastbound lanes will
be reopened to through traffic but the westbound traffic will be reduced to one
lane for two additional days.

Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed in this construction zone and be
alert to heavy equipment movement.
