The Public Works Director announced today that beginning, Friday, October 14,
2005, utility work to serve the new Public Library will begin on North Main
Street between Court Street and High Street.  Motorists are cautioned to be
alert to heavy equipment movement.

He further announced that beginning at 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2005,
North Main Street between Court Street and High Street will be reduced to one
lane each way controlled by signs and barricades.  He further announced that
there will be no parking on either side of the street during construction.

The closures and restrictions are required to permit utility work and is
expected to take four to five weeks.  Motorists are again cautioned to be alert
to manpower and heavy equipment movement in the construction zone.
