The Public Works Director announced that at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10,
2005 the hateful stop/yield temporary traffic configuration at the intersection
of Osborn Street and Central Avenue will be removed and Central Avenue traffic
will again be allowed to continue southbound onto the overpass without stopping.
However, the contractor has three days of work (weather permitting) in the
center of the Central Avenue portion of the overpass. One work location is
immediately north of Washington Street and the other is immediately south of
Washington Street. This work will begin on Monday morning, October 10th, and
for this three day period, both southbound and northbound Central Avenue traffic
will be reduced to one lane. The inside lane in both directions of travel will
need to merge right into the outside lane before reaching Washington Street.
Please slow down, drive courteously and be alert for construction signage,
construction workers and lane shifts on the overpass. If any of you can avoid
the overpass for these three days, please do so. Your help in easing the
inevitable traffic congestion will be greatly appreciated.
