The Public Works Director announced today that weather permitting, beginning
Saturday, May 21, 2005, the west bound lane of Jefferson Street between North
Main and North 3rd Streets will be closed to through traffic daily between the
hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

He further announced that the public sidewalk on the north side of Jefferson
from North Main Street to a point 100 feet west will be closed to pedestrian
traffic.
 
The restrictions and closures are required to allow for the safe repairs to the
masonry work on the adjacent building.  Pedestrians are cautioned to avoid the
construction zone.

This portion of the repairs is expected to take two weeks.
